At Cumnor Pre-School Nursery we believe that play is an important and essential part of growing up and developing skills.  All our activities are planned around the 'Foundation Stage of Learning' and the 'Early Learning Goals' which continues into the reception class in Primary Schools.  This is the equivalent of the National Curriculum for children aged 3 - 5.  It links directly into the Key stage 1 Curriculum that the children will cover in their first three years at school.

The Foundation Stage

There are six key areas:

1. Language and Literacy and Communication
2. Mathematical Development
3. Knowledge and Understanding of the World
4. Personal and Social and Emotional Development
5. Physical Development
6. Creative Development

Within and beyond these guidelines we aim to stimulate the children's learning in a safe and secure environment with plenty of adult support.
